8/22: Inside Swagelok Back Pressure Regulators with Eric Kayla

Another in a series by Eric Kayla, Swagelok's traveling guru on the subject

August Webinar: Back Pressure Regulators Made Simple, presented by Swagelok field engineer Eric Kayla. Registrants receive Kayla's slide deck. Register now »

Previously field engineer Eric Kayla has told us about pressure reducing regulators, which control pressure while sensing outlet pressure. Back-pressure regulators approach the subject from the opposite direction, if you will: They regulate the higher inlet or upstream pressure by opening up only as much as necessary to hold back the desired pressure at the inlet.  When pressure drops below a desired point, the regulator closes.

How they work

Kayla will detail the components that can be found within a back pressure regulator, such as the types of sensing elements, types of seats and types of loading elements. Because all those elements can come in a variety of combinations, Swagelok offers nearly a dozen different models for general purpose use and special applications. As with any of Swagelok's products, it's important to fit the model to the job.

Kayla's core presentation should take about 30 minutes, followed by a chance for the audience to ask questions. That's a major reason to sign up and participate live.

Webinar Replay

However, for people whose schedules don't mesh, we will record the webinar and put it online. We've done exactly that with our spring webinar on picking the right hose.  You can watch the replay here. You'll notice that even though our presenter, Patrick Werrlein, gave a thorough presentation on how to select the proper hose, people still wanted to drill down into the details of things like permeability and static dissipation.
