Storing green energy from wind or sun is essential to moving away from fossil fuels, but that will require some advances in battery technology. Current lithium-ion batteries contain a flammable liquid electrolyte that makes them dangerous in these applications. Now researchers at UCL have discovered a solid material that may have the right properties for a new type of battery.
