A recent study presents new ideas for both the origins of dark matter and how to identify it using astronomical observations. Astronomers have never been able to directly observe dark matter, but have rather seen its gravitational effects on visible matter and know its importance in the formation of galaxies. This mysterious substance has long been thought to be a remnant of the Big Bang, but if so, experiments in particle physics should have already shown direct evidence.
