As part of the push to move away from batteries that use rare earths, researchers from Sweden and Slovenia have unveiled a battery concept with twice the energy density compared with previous attempts. The battery is made with aluminum, which in addition to being high-density, has the added significant benefits of being ubiquitous and well-established in manufacturing and recycling.
