The endlessly curious Leonardo da Vinci explored the behaviour of liquids, among his many other endeavors. On the 500th anniversary of his death, a new edition of his Codex Leicester, a 72-page scientific notebook that contains numerous studies of water in motion in seas, rivers and canals, shows how revolutionary were his ideas on fluid dynamics.
