When Will It Burst? #1: Swagelok Brass Tube Fitting on Copper Tubing

This is the first in a series of videos that give you a sample of the training we provide in our in person training courses followed by a burst demonstration. In 2015, our followers also had a chance to guess at what pressure it would burst, and win a prize.

We called the videos “When Will It Burst?” because one of the highlights of our Tube Fitting Safety Seminar is the tube burst demonstration. In the demonstration, we install a 3/8” brass tube fitting on properly selected 3/8” copper tubing, place the assembly in our burst chamber. Then, we ask attendees to guess at what pressure the tubing will burst. And then we burst the tubing. (In the online version, contestants submitted their guesses online, and after 1 week video host Jeff Hopkins posted a new video congratulating the person with the best answer and offering a new quiz.)
