Radical Device Can Generate Electricity Just by Pointing at Space

A new prototype device called a “negative illumination diode” makes use of the same optoelectronic physics used by existing solar energy harvesters to make energy. It takes advantage of the temperature difference between the earth and space outside of our atmosphere.
