Swagelok Northern California Blog 2013: A Year In Review
by Jeff Hopkins on 12/18/13 10:00 PM
Check out the blogs and resources you may have missed during the year
This is the time of year when everyone reflects on the preceding 12 months. As we look back on our blog, we'd like to point out a few things you may have missed or forgotten.
The year began with a bang, well maybe more of a clang with my rendition of Auld Lang Syne entitled “Old Gas Lines”. A few other fun articles were: This Halloween, Who you gonna call? Leakbusters! and The true meaning of Thanksgiving.
Pressure reducing regulator webinar and guide
We published several webinar clips, a Tech Tip video, and articles about pressure regulators as a lead up to our technical webinar “How To Select and Size a Pressure Reducing Regulator”.
To cap off our first two pressure regulator webinars and to help prevent the spread of regulator confusion, we released our new Pressure Reducing Regulator guide, “Selection and Sizing of Pressure Reducing Regulators”.
Hose webinar and tutorial
Our blogs and videos on how to select the correct hose end connection and 7 ways to extend the life of your hose, are sure to entertain and enlighten you. Our April webinar, “5 Steps to Selecting the Right Hose for Your Fluid System”, was a must attend. If you missed it, you can still get the webinar slide deck, an in depth article on hose selection, and watch a replay of the webinar here.
Swagelok Northern California Training
Swagelok products are used in fluid systems all over the world in nearly every industry because of their reputation for quality and reliability. But our products would not perform properly without proper selection and installation by our customers. Swagelok training is available to ensure that our customers know the best practices for fluid system selection and installation. So in 2013, we took our training on the road and brought in an expert to train on Process Analyzer Sampling Systems.
Swagelok on display at SEMICON West 2013
Swagelok products play an integral role in Semiconductor manufacturing. Read a case study about how Swagelok dielectric hose is playing a key role in semiconductor tool temperature control. Also, see how the Swagelok ALD valve and the new DE Series diaphragm valve are helping propel semiconductor manufacturing forward. Swagelok is also playing a leading role in the 450MM transition through its involvement in the Facility 450 Consortium.
Back pressure regulator webinar
In 2012, we tackled pressure regulator basics, and earlier in 2013, we covered selecting and sizing pressure reducing regulators, the next logical step was to take on back pressure regulators.
We also passed along some feedback from attendees of our regulator webinars and offered an expanded technical bulletin on pressure regulator flow curves.
The Swagelok tube fitting
In 1947, Swagelok introduced the Swagelok Tube Fitting, and it has been our flagship product ever since. Our blog would be remiss, if we did not address related topics like, FAQ: What tubing should I use with Swagelok tube fittings, Swagelok tube fittings solve the leakage formula, Which is best for your job: a tubing assembly or pipe?, and Remembering Joe Callahan, former Swagelok Chairman and author of the Swagelok Tube Fitter's Manual.
Swagelok Northern California services
Along with quality components, we strive to provide our customers with services that meet their needs and exceed their expectations. We have already mentioned our training programs, but we also provide energy management services, custom hose assembly services and more. We are ISO 9001 and Swagelok Quality Systems certified. However, what really matters to us is your opinion of us because Swagelok Northern California is only as good as you say we are.
Customer case studies
My favorite articles are ones about our customers. This year we featured a customer in a very niche market, backyard chicken owners, a biopharmaceutical company and microchip makers. And, we published an article featuring an amazing video about how a Swagelok customer, AVANTech, using Swagelok components, helped limit the spread of radioactive water after the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
2014 and beyond
2013 was an unbelievable year, and it would not have been possible without you. From all the associates at Swagelok Northern California, thank you for your continued trust in us and your business, and know that we as individuals and as a team will be ever vigilant as we strive to obtain our company vision to “become our customer’s favorite story”. Please let us know how we are doing.
